Where to find content for your website

Tips for sourcing good content

The number one way to get content for your website is to write it yourself. After all, who knows more about what your website than you do?

But this could be easier said than done. Maybe you're not a good writer. Maybe you're not fluent in the language you want your website published in. Or maybe you just don't have the time to write your own content.

Fortunately, there is a virtually unlimited source of pre-written content that you can buy or borrow depending upon how the original author makes the content available.

Sources of Free Content

Free content is free to use, but you usually have to keep the author's name and contact information on it. Obviously this is not the best solution if you are trying to establish yourself as a subject matter expert, but it's a great option if you want to generate search engine traffic. Where can you find free content?

Article sites like Ezinearticles.com and hundreds of others. Search for: "free articles in Google".

RSS feeds that pull in content, news stories, weather and more from blogs and other sites. Here's a tip on how to do it. And, you know what? That link points to free content from one of the article repositories. See how easy this can be?

There are plenty of sites where you can subscribe to free content on a wide variety of topics including jokes, horoscopes, stories and more.

Sources of Paid Content

You can buy content that you put your name on it and claim author rights if you want to.

This type of content is called Private Label Resale Rights (PLR) content. Goggle: PLR content and you'll find hundreds of options. But choose carefully; content quality varies widely.

You can also hire writers to create highly-specific content for you. There are thousand of writers available for hire online. And, just like with PLR content, quality varies widely. Ask for samples and references before you make a decision.

Between free and paid content, you should be able to keep your visitors interested and buying for a long time to come!
